Darrell L. Akemon, 55 of Scottsburg, Indiana died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

He was born March 18, 1957 in Clay County, Kentucky, the son of Euel and Irene (Davis) Akemon.

Darrell was a construction superintendent for Horizon Retail Construction in Racine, Wisconsin, a graduate of S.H.S. Class of 1975 and a member of the Moose Family Center # 2324. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include a son, Derrick L. Akemon of Seymour, Indiana; his parents, Euel "Buck" & Irene Akemon of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Donald Akemon of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Nancy Akemon of Scottsburg, Indiana & Beverly Mayes of Glasgow, Kentucky; his grandmother, Anna Simpson of Scottsburg, Indiana; five nephews; a niece and several great nephews & nieces.

Cremation with burial at a later date in Scottsburg Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: American Heart Association or the Vienna Twp V.F.D. c/o Collins Funeral Home.
