Roy Glen Adkins, 74, of Catlettsburg, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at his home.

Roy was born August 5, 1938, in Elliott County, the son of the late Guy and Juanita Flannery Adkins.

Roy was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cannonsburg. He was a pipefitter with Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 248. He served as the business agent for the local for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Rush and was a Shriner.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Lewis.

Roy is survived by his wife, Laura Alice Blanton Adkins, four children, Valerie Adkins of Catlettsburg, Vonya Whorton of Union Star, MO., Ricky Adkins of Huntington, WV., and Glen Dale Adkins of Flatwoods, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2012, at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, by Brother Stan Williams and Brother Charles Skaggs. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
