Daughter of Jesse G. and Charity [Stephenson] Rollo. 12th born of 13 children.
Jesse and Charity are buried in the Rollo Family Cemetery, Linwood, Pike County Alabama.
Research indicates Martha was born 1 Jan. 1847 or 1 Jan. 1848 or 1 Jan. 1949. Based on the 1850 Census, she was 3 years of age, making 1847 the most likely.
She also went by several names Martha Laura, Martha A. and Mattie.
Martha married B. P. Crauswell 20 September 1869.
Before Jun 1870 Burrel and Martha moved from Pike Cty., to Jefferson Co. they are listed in the US Census T15SR5W Jefferson Cty. Democrat Post Office.
Their five children: William 1870-1874; Sam 1875-1957; Laura 1878-1881; Curby 1882-1973; Sparks 1884-1964, were born in Jefferson and Blount/Cullman Counties (County lines moved they didn't).
In June 1880 they are listed in the US Census in Arkadelphia, Blount County Alabama, where they remained.
Many of her grandchildren recalled "Mammy Crauswell" smoked a pipe and was known to have a small drink of whiskey every morning.
