The death of Mrs. Mary Guernsey occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. L Strangeway, in Andes Aug. 23,. the cause her infirmities of old age. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Swart and was born on Beeman Hill, town of Middletown. April 8, 1834, over ninety years ago. Her first husband was Peter Delameter, Reed M. Delameter of this village and Mrs. Strangeway of Andes are children by this marriage. Her second husband was William Guernsey, and to them was born a son, William T. All of the children survive. After her first marriage she settled in Margaretville where she lived with exception of about five years, when Mr. and Mrs. Delameter moved to Otego, In which place Mr. Delameter died. The last thirty eight years she has lived in Andes. The funeral was held in Andes Tuesday, with Elder Ruston and Dominie Forbes conducting tho services. The body was brought to Margaretville for burial.
