He had gone to preach a revival at his son James David Franks church in Mt.Vernon,Illinois.
About mid week of the revival,he could not continue and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
He had surgery on May 7 in Mt.Vernon,Illinois and died May 14,1962 at age 61.
He was taken back to St.Joseph,MO.for the funeral and burial.
His wife Susie lived 23 years after his death.
She died October 1985 at Harlingen,Texas at the home of daughter Nancy Jo.
She is buried beside Cecil at St Joseph,Mo.
Their children and son inlaws are missionaries and pastors and continue in the family tradition of serving the Lord.
