Age 81 years, two months and 17 days, a resident of Jackson formerly of Anniston, passed away Monday October 29, 2012 at 9:45 p.m. in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born August 12, 1931 in Crosno, Missouri to the late Elmer Hugh & Eula Irene Pruitt Byrd, Wanda lived in Anniston most of her life where she owned and operated the Nolen General Store and was a postal clerk in the Anniston Post Office. She was a member of the Anniston Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Conley Nolen of Jackson; one daughter and son-in-law, Connie & David Toney of Perryville; two brothers, Billy Byrd of Damascus, Arkansas and Earl Byrd of Joplin, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jason Toney, Jared Toney, Erin Toney, Brian Nolen, Rebecca Rollett and William Nolen; seven great-grandchildren, Jack Toney, Jorja Toney, Auston Proffer, Celeste Meredith, Marlaina Cobb, Alexander Cobb and Caden Moore; and a host of relatives and many friends.

Besides her parents one brother, Paul Davis; one sister Kathleen Bone preceded Wanda in death.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie until time of the funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Shelby Chapel with Bro. David Pringle pastor of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Cape officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery with Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
