Vernon C. Allen
SALTON CITY -Vernon C. Allen, a self-employed brick mason for 35 years before retiring, died Nov. 28 at his Salton City home. He was 71.
Mr. Allen was born in Morrilton, Ark., and had lived in Fallbrook from 1945 to 1977, when he moved to Salton City.
Survivors include his wife, Luna Mae, of Salton City; sons Charles and James Allen, both of Salton City and Billy Allen of Fallbrook; daughters Dorothy Voss of Auburn, Wash., and Shirley Taylor of Fallbrook; brother, Billy Earl Allen of Leola, Ark., sisters Estelle Richard of Ola, Ark., Emma Lee Lambert of Dumas, Ark., Lucille Iorns of Gould, Ark., and Betty Wells of Watson, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Services were scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Berry-Bell and Hall Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Snider of the Fallbrook Assembly of God Church officiating.
Interment is to follow in Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.
Berry-Bell and Hall Fallbrook Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
