Mrs. Tschirky was born in Lucerne, Switzerland, and in her youth studied hair-dressing. After going to Paris she competed in the first Paris Exposition, winning a gold medal. In 1882 she came to this country with her son.
The funeral services were held in the Tschirky home, New Paltz, Wednesday morning, the Rev. Dr. Clapp, pastor of the Reformed Church officiating. The body was taken to Bogota , N.J., and cremated. The ashes of Mrs. Tschirky and her husband will be buried in the family plot in the New Paltz Cemetery.
