Mrs. Sweat was born in Waycross but had lived most of her life in Jeff Davis County. She was the daughter of the late John Wesley Carter and Dorothy Spell Carter and the wife of the late Malcolm (Mack) Sweat. Mrs. Sweat was a member of the Satilla Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law: Mackie & Caroline Sweat of Hazelhurst; Wayne & Susan Sweat of Martinez; grandchildren and their spouses: Peyton & Michelle Sweat of North Augusta, SC, Adrien & Rodney Thomas of Hazelhurst; 6 great grandchildren; special caregivers: Anelda Butler, Susie Smith and Nora Brewer; several nieces & nephews.
