Patent trader - Thursday, Sept. 19, 1968: - SALEM CENTER - Mrs. Eva A. Tuttle, 74, of Mills Road, former postmistress of the Salem Center Post Office, died Tuesday morning at Putnam Community Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Tuttle was born November 7, 1893 in New York City, daughter of the late Gilbert M. and Emma Meyer Anderson. She was the widow of Arthur Tuttle of Salem Center. She was educated in schools on Staten Island and in Salem Center. Mrs. Tuttle was postmistress of the Salem Center Post Office from the early 1950's until her retirement in 1961. She was a member of North Salem Methodist Church. She leaves three brothers, Gilbert M. Anderson of Woodhaven, Albert W. Anderson of Brooklyn and Harold I. Anderson of Parkchester; three sisters, Grace M. Lawson and Lauretta W. Kobke, both of Massapequa, L.I. and Alice A. Trayes of Bedford Village; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Beecher Funeral Home 1 Putnam Terrace Brewster with the Rev David Otto, pastor of the North Salem Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in June Cemetery, Salem Center.
