Mrs. Nellie Marie Cornwell Speer, 89, a resident of Wynne, AR., departed this life, Monday, October 29, 2012, at Crestpark Nursing Center in Wynne.
She was born on, November 23, 1922, in Wynne, the daughter of Robert and Mary Alice (Yates) Cornwell.
She married Mr. Marvin O'brint Speer on November 7, 1941.
She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Wynne and retired from Addison Shoe Factory. She enjoyed canning, gardening, fishing and caring for others. Nellie was a kind hearted "teacher", teaching one resident how to write her name, but most of all she enjoyed time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Speer was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Marvin Speer, one brother: John Henry Cornwell, sisters: Lucille Cornwell, Mary Lou Bucy.
Nellie is survived by One son: Wayne Speer and wife Wanda of Colt, Arkansas, three daughters: Bonnie Bowman and husband Leslie of Searcy, Arkansas, Glenda Futrell and husband Kenneth, Sr. of Vanndale, Arkansas, Sherry Sams and husband Daniel of Wynne, Arkansas, one brother: Robert Cornwell, four sisters: Pearlene Fields of Wynne, Arkansas, Thelma Adams of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dorothy Jones of Paris, Tennessee, Peggy Taylor of Paris, Tennessee, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery.
