She was preceded in death by her parents John and Roberta Harris; sister Willa Stanford; 2nd husband Finis Young; daughter Debra Dowdell; and sons Clifford Dowdell and Gregory Young. She leaves to morn husband Jerry Brooks, Jr.; daughters Brenda "Billy" Jones of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Renae Young, Faye Young, and Tonya R. Young; son John Anthony Young, all who reside in Dallas, TX; 8 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Gills and brother Eddie Lenor; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 12:30PM in Restland's Wildwood Chapel.
