John B. Drass, 74, of 1788 Armstrong Valley Road died Saturday Nov. 27, 2004 at his residence. He was born in Frankstown, PA the son of late John R. Drass and Lillian Drass who survives him of Altoona. He retired in 1968 from the U.S. Air Force as a Tech. Sgt. after 21 years of service.He was a firefighter in the Air Force. He also retired from local laborer's union #1180. He was a member of the Halifax and Steelton VFWs. He loved animals and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of40 years Betty Morrow Drass; three sons, Robert Donovan and Charles Donovan of Halifax, Alford Donovan of Lykens; a daughter Rebecca Donovan of Landisburg; three brothers Michael of Canoe Creek, Richard and Charles both of Altoona; two sisters Josephine Poplin of Tampa, Fla. and Eileen Hmel of Altoona; 10 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert, William Daniel and a sister Marian.
Services were held on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Hoover Funeral Home in Millersburg, Pa. Burial with military honors were in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, Pa.
