"Jesus P. Barreras passed away on June 25, 2005, he was surrounded by loved ones at the time of the death.

Chuy was born to Miguel and Lorenza Barreras on November 11, 19231 in Pirtleville.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Ramon, Miguel and Francisco Barreras, sisters Mercedes Valenzuela aned Estella Alvidrez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Yolanda Barreras, and dedicated son Joey (Gioria) Barreras.

Chuy worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 36 years as an agent. He loved gardening and had a strong dedication to helping his community. He was also a member of the Douglas Noon Lions Club.

Service times are as follows: Rosary was recited on June 27, 2005 at 7 p.m. in the main chapel of Adair Douglas Funeral Chapel.; Mass of the Resurrection was held on June 28 at 11 a..m. at St. Bernards Church in Pirtleville. Officiating was Father James Baka. Pallbearers were Larry Moss, David Gage, Rene Barreras, Martin Barreras, Francoise Barreras, Alex Alvidrez and Chris Valenzuela. Burial is to follow at a later date at Calvary Cemetery."
