Jennie Moody Harrison Pruitt, age 67, of Spartanburg, SC, died at her home at 12:15 am, Saturday, February 24, 1950, after a long illness.

A native of Union County; daughter of the late William Henry Harrison (1842–1921) and Ellirzine Z. Bishop Harrison (1848–1917); wife of John Landrum Pruitt (1881-1965); and had made her home in Spartanburg for 45 years.

Survivors include daughters, Beulah Mae Pruitt (1906-1993), Gertrude Pruitt Belcher (1910-1997), Mary Culpernia Pruitt Forshee (1914–2008), Willie Maude Pruitt Rhodes (1916-2003), Edna Eudora Pruitt McBride (1918-1995), and Jennie Pruitt Kemp Hawkins (1924-1982); sons, John McLaurin Pruitt (1910-1986) and Pfc William Orin Pruitt (1921-1989); sisters, Addie H. Harrison Smith (1875–1962), and Mary Harrison Sumner (1882-1972), and Frances Harrison Smith (1890–1969); brother, Albert Henry Harrison (1886–1962); and twelve grandchildren.

Also predeceased by siblings, Sallie Harrison O'Shields (1867-1901), Massie Sirvillia Harrison Pruitt (1869–1940), John Milton Harrison (1874–1945), Josephus Seph Harrison (1877–1941).

Funeral services were held at Arkwright Baptist Church by Rev. Leon Chandler, Rev. R.O. Webb, and Rev. Boyce Coates.
