Frederika was the 7th of 13 known children of Saline County pioneers F.A. and Dorethe Heidemann. She immigrated to Illinois with her parents and there married Henry Jordening. They had 9 children: Sophie, Mary, Ferdinant Otto (died at age 1), Lena, Henry Jr., Dora, Frederika (died at age 1), Emma, and Ida.
