HILLARD, Oh. - Hattie D. Best, 95, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing in Hilliard, Ohio.
Mrs. Best was born Feb. 10, 1909, in Lasker, the daughter of Jeremiah and Lucy Collier Draper. She had lived with her daughter the past seven years; however most of her life was spent in Roanoke Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur J. Best; her son, Sidney Deloatch Jr.; her stepson, Jack Best; and two sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and George Havener of Hilliard; her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Deloatch of Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandchildren, Charles Havener, Cathy Havener Williams, Sidney Deloatch III, Jack Deloatch and Laura Deloatch; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Askew Funeral Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 23. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m., in the chapel, with Minister Randy Martin of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
