George W Friday, 532 21st
St., died Wednesday, July 1,1970
at 10 a.m. at his home after a
lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 13, 1881
at Van Scoyoc, a son of Hiram
and Catherine Stiver Friday. On
Dec. 10, 1902 at Tyrone he was
married to Annie Miller.
Surviving are the widow, and
the following sons and daughters:
Mrs. Margaret Temple, of
Juniata; Mrs. Mary Hunter,
Mrs. Elsie Riggleman, Harry,
Miss Anna Friday, Mrs. Esther
Ewing, Mrs. Betty Hand, all of Ty-
rone; Mrs. Olive Placheckiand
Miss Lois Friday, both of Pittsburgh;
Mrs. Wilma Conrad, Bald
Eagle. Two sons preceded him in
death.
Also surviving are 36 grand-
children, 60 great grandchildren,
and five great great grandchildren.
He was the last of his
immediate family.
He was a member of the
First English Lutheran Church
and a member of the Brotherhood
of Locomotive Engineers, and of
the I.O.O.F. Lodge 152 of Ty-
rone. He had been employed as an
engineman by the Pennsylvania
Railroad Co., retiring in 1946
after 46 years of service.
Funeral service will be held
Friday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson
Funeral Home, in charge of
the Rev. James DeLong. Burial
will be in Bald Eagle Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the
funeral home today from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m.
