Edith was the oldest of 9 children. She had 5 sisters - Nina, Beth, Barbara, Judy, Laurel, 3 brothers, Jack, Doug and Jeff. She married Ralph Leistritz on June 12, 1948. They had 2 children Kay and Mike (deceased) that produced 6 grandchildren Paul, Patricia, Bobby, Chris, Stephanie and Shawn.
Edith was a life long resident of Kennewick (graduating from KHS in 1948). She had several jobs throughout her lifetime. Her last one she retired from Columbia Marine Lines.
Edith was a member of the Pasco Moose Lodge for over 43 years. She will be remembered for her talented flower making, beautiful ceramic works, her wonderful smile and the sweetest chuckle and most of all her very kind heart.
Her kitchen was always open anytime for anyone, but due to her failing health in recent years was unable to continue her annual Christmas breakfasts that she so loved to prepare. An event that will be remembered by those who attended. She never knew a stranger and was always willing to drop whatever she was doing to help another.
Her family, friends and her Kennewick school mates regarded her highly for her wealth of information on just most any subject they desired.
We appreciate The Pasco Moose members for their honorary tribute to a fine and gracious lady on August 1, 2009.
Edith, you will be sorely missed by all who loved you and appreciated your kindness.
Your loving husband Ralph
