Jane was the granddaughter of Cornelius and Wyntje Berritt Westervelt and the daughter of Daniel and Maria LeRoy Westervelt. She married Simon Samuel DeLong in Poughkeepise, Dutchess County, New York on 28 June 1829.
They had the following children:
1. Mary E. 1829-1891
2. Daughter b. 1831-1832.
3. Catherine E. DeLong 1834 - 1926.
4. Edward J. DeLong 1836 - 1924.
5. Sarah L. DeLong 1844 - 1879.
According to the 1875 New York State Census, Jane was the mother of five children.
They had the following children:
