In Calais, 28 Apr 1859 (sic), "Death On Board a Steamer": Wm H. Pike, of Calais, who has been spending a year or two at the Sandwich Islands, recently returned to New Bedford in a whaling ship, an invalid from consumption. He took the Steamer from Boston to Eastport, and at the later place, took Steamer Queen for Calais. When almost within sight of home, expired. A sister from New Bedford accompanied him.(Eastport Sentinel, May 4, 1859)
