Earl A. Lechleitner Sr., 83, of Pottsville, passed away Monday at home.

Born in Brier City, May 3, 1922, he was a son of the late Alfred and Eva Drye Lechleitner.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a miner for Koch's Coal Co., Tremont, and was owner and operator of Earl's Gun Repair, Pottsville, for more than 20 years.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Pinshock Lechleitner, on April 15, 1965; two sisters, Verna Tropp and Irene Mehling.

Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Dorothy G. Konscler Lechleitner; eight daughters, Erlene E., wife of Roy Ashman, Pottsville, Jean, wife of Elmer J. Graeff, Hamburg, Sally Hoff, Frackville, Karen, wife of Paul Farber, Frackville, Louise, wife of Ralph Schuler, Lenhartsville, Cindy R. Marx, companion of Guy Ebert Sr., Cumbola, Linda, wife of Anthony Trabosh, Pottsville, and Lisa Hunt, Pottsville; two sons, Earl A. Lechleitner Jr., husband of Cathleen Lechleitner, Pottsville, and Gary L. Lechleitner, Frackville; 26 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Herman Lechleitner, Schuylkill Haven; several nieces and nephews.

Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lord Funeral Home Inc., Pottsville. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
