John lived at 42 Whitehouse Rd. in the Village of Portville, but passed away on his 68th birthday in Olean (NY) General Hospital after a short illness. He was retired, after 47 years of employment, from the Pennsylvania Rail Road as a telegraph operator. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, Edna R. Wagner(must have been his second wife?), One daughter, Mrs. John A. Pettruccelli of Portville; Two sons, Bernard L. Wagner of Winchester, Ind and Staff Sgt., Neil J. Wagner, United States Air Force, serving in Texas; Two step-sons, Bernard E. Beldin of Fontana, CA and Maurice W. Beldin of Belleville, IL; Three sisters, Mrs. Margaret McWilliams(?) of Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Edna Dantis of New York City, NY and Mrs. Eva Burdick of Hornell, NY; Four grandsons, One granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held at the Marble Funeral Home in Portville on Sept. 19, 1957.
