Funeral Home Marker of Christ Bartels placed below Emma Bartels gravemarker
Christ L. Bartels, a highly esteemed resident of Grover, dropped dead at 7:40 o'clock this morning, shortly after partaking of breakfast. A physician was summoned and pronounced death due to heart failure.
The decedent was well known and highly respected throughout Marinette County. He was born in Grover March 12, 1872 and has been a resident there since.
He is survived by his sorely bereaved widow and the following sons and one daughter: Oscar Bartels, cashier of the First National Bank in Peshtigo; Charles and John Bartels of Marinette; Martin and George of Grover and Mrs. Sophie Parthie of Peshtigo.
The remains were removed to the Harper Funeral Home at Peshtigo, later to be brought to the family home in Grover.
