Nichols - Mary Frances Brown, 77, who was better known to friends and associates here as "Aunt Fannie," died at 11 p.m. Friday at the B. L. Metcalf home here. Heart trouble was given as the direct cause of death, although she had been in poor health for several years.
Mrs. Brown was born November 22, 1858, near Letts and had made her home in Nichols for the past 28 years. She married William P. Buser of Conesville, March 6, 1879, but the latter met a tragic death four years later. She then married Henry Brown of Nichols, who also met a tragic death in August, 1908. She was a member of the Reformed church at Conesville, and an Eastern Star member.
She is survived only by a sister, Mrs. Oda Morris of Nichols. Two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Christian church here with the Rev. Mina Hargis in charge. Burial will be at Brockway cemetery four miles south of Nichols. The Kirchner Funeral home is in charge, with the body remaining at the Metcalf home." [No newspaper title or date for this obituary.]
