Betty Jean Pate Robichau passed away Friday after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Born in Center, Texas, the daughter of Matt D. and Willie Mae Pate, she later moved to Beaumont.

A cheerleader and graduate of French High School, Betty Jean was crowned Sweetheart of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and worked for the Visitors and Convention Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph O. Robichau; son, Mark Edmond Robichau; and brothers, W. L. and Charles Pate.

Survivors include her sister, of Hemet, California; brother and his wife of Beaumont; daughters, son-in-law of Austin and of Beaumont; sons both of Beaumont; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
