Olympia - Gladys B. Rorvik, 89, a resident of Olympia for 7 years, died Friday, May 20, 1994 in Evergreen Convalescent Center, Olympia. Gladys was born March 9, 1905 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Steven & Wyonna (Smith) Bayle. She attended schools in North Dakota and was graduated from Teachers College in Fargo, North Dakota. She was married to Harold Rorvik in 1948, Grandview, Washington. Mr. Rorvik died in 1959. Gladys taught school in North Dakota. She moved to Washington State in 1944 and had lived in Othello and then moved to Yakima where she lived for 45 years. She worked as a secretary for Boise Cascade Mill in Yakima and as the City Clerk in the Yakima Tax Department for many years before retiring. Gladys was a nature buff and enjoyed traveling; she was a member of the Apache Junction Chapter of Eastern Star, Arizona and the Lady Elks. She is survived by 3 nephews, Patrick Bayle of Olympia, Jim Bayle of Yakima, Mike Bayle of Spokane and a cousin, Shirley Derry in Oregon. A graveside internment will be held Saturday, June 4, 1994 at 11:30 A.M. at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, Yakima. WA. Arrangements by Mills & Mills Funeral Directors, Olympia, WA.
