Addie Sue Barham Thomas, 90, of Bridgeport passed away Tuesday at her residence after an extended illness. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Rev. Joey Karr and the Rev. Jim Bernard officiating. Burial will be in Stevenson City Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, former Stevenson mayor Ben. R. "Dick" Thomas Sr., her parents, Rome Key "R.K." Barham Sr. and Susan Ada Boles Barham, a sister, Lennis Farris, and two brothers, R.K. Barham Jr., and Bill Barham. Ms. Thomas was a member of the Stevenson First Baptist Church and attended many of the services at the Bridgeport Methodist Church before her illness. She had a real interest in genealogy, antiques, wildlife, and community history. She had several other interests and hobbies with quilting being one of her favorite. She was a member of Peace by Piece Quilting Club in Scottsboro. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Thomas Kreinhop and Fay and her husband, Bill Payne of Bridgeport; one son, Ben R. Thomas Jr. of Huntsville; four grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; two stepgreatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
