Charity Marie Miller 1984-2003
Clarence Mullen Jr., 86, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at Union Hospital. He was retired from CBS. He was born June 24, 1924, in Clark County, Ill., to Clarence Mullen and Zola Waldon Mullen.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Charlene Dawson Mullen; a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Janet Mullen of Iowa; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jim Miller of Terre Haute; a sister, Shirley Dreher of West Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Kelsey Mullen, Reni Pappin, Nicole Miller, and Abbey Robinson; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Charity Miller; and two sisters, Barbara Lasure and Maxine Machen.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany and France during World War II. He was a member of Dunlap United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 104, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Bill Duke officiating. Burial is at Dunlap Cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by VFW Post 972. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and prior to services on Friday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Dunlap Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
