W.C. Bedsaul Dies Friday
William Claude Bedsaul, father of Carroll Bedsaul, Lead, died early Friday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital, following an illness of several months.
He was born March 9, 1888 at Pipers Gap, Va., and came to South Dakota as a young child with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Bedsaul.
He farmed near Bear Butte and Tilford and later was employed by the Homestake Mining Company in its timber department at Nemo and Piedmont before coming to Lead in about 1930 where he worked in the mine.
He was married to Ella Ackley, who survives and is residing in Corona, Calif.
Also surviving are four sons, Carroll, Lead; Bryant, Medford, Mass.; Philip, LaMesa, Calif.; Clare, Fort Sill, Okla.; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Kenyon, Miller; 15 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Cora Archer, Rapid City; Mrs. Clifford Hennen, Central City; Mrs. Sam Gallimore, Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Roby Bedsaul, Sturgis, and Edgar, Rapid City.
He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.
Funeral arrangements, which are under the direction of McColley Funeral Home, Lead, are pending.

Rites Set Sunday For W.C. Bedsaul
Funeral services will be held Sunday in Lead for William Claude Bedsaul, father of Carroll Bedsaul, Lead, who died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital.
The final rites are set for 2 p.m. at the McColley Funeral chapel with Rev. Terry Nelson, First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain Lawn cemetery. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church organ fund.

Rev. Terry Nelson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Lead, conducted the final rites at the McColley Funeral Home chapel. Mrs. Myron Sullivan, as soloist, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide With Me." She was accompanied by Mrs. Dan Larson.
Serving as pallbearers were William Lamberton, Lewis Lamberton, Levi Zink, Sigvold Tveidt, all of Sturgis; Clifford Hennen, Central City and James Edlund, Lead.
Interment as in the Mountain Lawn cemetery, Lead.
