George B. [Barney] Bevirt, 84-year-old retired farmer of Old Caseyville Road, R. R. 1, Caseyville, died at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home. He was in failing health for three years.
Mr. Bevirt was born in O'Fallon Township on November 27, 1876, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Bevirt, nee Sparks. He married the former Carrie Pausch in O'Fallon Township, May 9, 1906.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Kenneth Bevirt, St. Louis County; a daughter, Edith, wife of Raymond Erlinger, R. R. 1, Caseyville; a sister, Ruth, wife of James Hill, Houston, Tex.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy and seven brothers and five sisters.
Mr. Bevirt was a member of the St. Clair County Farm Bureau.
