Luther G, White was born Dec. 20, 1882 in Stoddard, WI to Henry and Luna Ellen (Graves) White. He married Emily Laylan and together they had four children: Henry, Dolores, Marietta and Florence.
(Henry was born 7/12/1905 and passed away on 6/24/1906 at the age of 11 months and 12 days. The cause of death was accidental drowning in a bucket with just a few inches of water in it. Henry is buried somewhere (unknown at this time) in Genoa, WI.)
Before retirement Luther was a carpenter in Gary, Ind. moving there from LaCrosse, WI in 1926. He received his honorary life membership in Carpenters Local 985 of Gary for 50 years as a member. He also had served as treasurer of the local for 28 years.
Luther passed away on Sept. 4, 1970 in LaCrosse, WI at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 15 days. He was survived by his widow, Emily; two daughters, Florence and Marietta; 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Henry in 1906 and his daughter, Dolores Love, in 1959.
