Mishawaka -- Services for S. Elizabeth Simpson, 85, of 100 Center High Rise, who died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial gardens. Friends may call one hour before services Friday in the funeral home.


Mrs. Simpson retired from Indiana Michigan Power Co., Niles, as a clerk. She was born June 18, 1906 in Paducah, Ky., and lived in Mishawaka since 1986.

On Feb. 13, 1929, in Nashville, Tenn., as S. Elizabeth Johnson, she married Charles H. Simpson. He died in 1985.
She is survived by two daughters, Anne Johnson of South Bend and Reba Pingel of Plantation, Fla.; a son, Charles Jr. of Statesville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rebecca Taylor of Knoxville, Tenn. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 332, Niles, Rebecca Lodge 248, Niles, and Women of the Moose Lodge 614, Tarpon Springs, Fla.
