Adam DOERR/DARR born 21 September 1886 in Kassel, Glueckstal, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Rudolph DOERR and Christina RUEB.

Adam married Paulina BECKER on the 28th of February 1906 in Kassel, Glueckstal, Odessa, South Russia. The couple was blessed with 6 children; Rudolph, Emil, Pauline, Edwin, Annie and Melita.

In search of a better life, after leaving the port of Bremen, Germany on the 8th of April 1913 Adam DARR, wife Paulina and their children; Rudolph, Emil and Pauline, along with the Daniel BECKER and Jacob EBERHARDT families, all arrived at Ellis Island, New York aboard the SS 'Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse' on the 15th of April 1913.

Their final destination was recorded as Irvine, Alberta, Canada to meet up with Daniel BECKER's Son-in-Law Johann HAAS. The ship's manifest also revealed that Adam had $100 in his pocket on arrival at Ellis Island, New York.

Adam DARR within the municipality of Enterprise Saskatchewan took-on a Homestead - SW ¼ & NW ¼ of Sec 28, Twp 18, Rge 29, W3. As per the '1926 Census of the Prairie Provinces' Adam was naturalized in 1919.

Adam died of a stroke and was interred 15 Jun, 1941 by Reverend H. W. Riegel.

NOTE:
The surname was originally spelled DOERR and pronounced (DARE) but the name was changed to DARR around the time of their immigration to Canada. The ship manifest shows it as DOERR and relatives living in the United States retained that spelling.
