SAMUEL ROBINSON (Capt. Jonathan, Isaac, Joseph?, Corpl. Joseph ?)succeeded his father as tavern keeper at No. 55 about 1819, which he ran until 1842 when Elijah Holbrook, his son-in-law took over the business.He was captain in the militia, selectman 12 years, treasurer 1833-34 and represented the town in the General Court, 1829, 30, was also postmaster in S. a short time. About 1842 he rem. to Keene and lived at No. 441 Main street until 1850 when he moved again to No. 106 Main street, where he d. He m. S. May 21, 1812, Nancy Harvey of Alstead b. 1792; d. Keene Jan. 29, 1859.

*From what I can confirm, Samuel is related to Joseph (b. 1676 in MA, d. 9 Apr 1761 in Andover, MA, see Early Vital Records of Massachusetts) and Corporal Joseph Robinson (abt 1645 in MA, d. 15 Jul 1719 in Andover, MA) through Samuel's father, Jonathan Robinson (b. 25 Jun 1756 in Andover, MA, d. 17 Mar 1838 in Surry, NH) and Jonathan's father, Isaac (b. Sep 1715 in Andover, MA, d. 13 Apr 1804 in Andover, MA). Therefore this line extends even further than the birth of Corporal Joseph Robinson, though the father of Corporal Joseph Robinson is unknown.
