She was born March 4, 1903, in Latrobe, Pa., a daughter of the late Adam George Armel and Ella May Imel Armel.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, the Rev. Henry Edward Burke in 1989; a son, Edward George Burke; two brothers, Frank and Ray Armel; and three sisters, Ivy Hermanzack, Pearl Zitterbart and Gladys Armel.
Surviving are a daughter, Hazel Virginia McCune and her husband, Kenneth McCune of Uniontown; two sons, Earl Gilbert Burke and his wife, Estella of Chads Ford, Pa., and Everett Armel Burke and his wife, Juanita of Nevada; a daughter-in-law, Lennie Burke of Brunswick, Me; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Burke was a member of the Oliver No. 3 Mission and was the oldest surviving member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. William Fish officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
