Margaret Layman Ackerman, 89, passed away on October 20, 2012. Born in Leitchfield, KY to the late Gordon and Ethel Bland Layman, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
A resident of Jacksonville since 1960, Margaret was a member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center. She retired from the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America Local 433 as the bookkeeper and office manager.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Robert Ackerman; daughter, Lynn Ackerman Landau (Gregg); brother, Gene Layman (Betty); along with other family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday (today) in the New Center Cemetery (located in Evergreen Cemetery at 43rd and Liberty Streets) with Rabbi Jesse Olitzky as Officiant.
