Lapel, June 26 ---Noah Schuyler and his wife, Dessie Schuyler, who were killed in an
automobile accident two miles east of here last evening, have been residents of this
locality all of their lives and are widely known. Mr. Schuyler has operated a grocery
store here for sixteen years. He was born at Fishersburg. He leaves two sons, Richard
and Terry; a daughter, Mrs. Horace Russell; a brother, Alfred Schuyler, and three
sisters, Mrs. Oak Renner, Mrs. Roy Barnhizer and Mrs. Frank Dyer, Lapel. Mrs. Schuyler,
a native of this community, was born three miles southeast of here. She is survived by
two sons; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Sears, Lapel; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Newton,
Anderson, and Mrs. Cecil McClintock, Indianapolis; three brothers, Glen Sears, Pendleton;
John Sears, near Lapel, and Virgil Sears, south of Lapel.

Mr. and Mrs. Schuyler had been married about eighteen years.

Double Funeral
Double funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Schuyler will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the
Methodist Church, here, with Rev. H.C. Wischmier, pastor, in charge, assisted by Rev.
E.B. Imler, of Upland. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

Mr. Schuyler was a member of the Masonic lodge and Lapel Business Men's Club, and Mrs.
Schuyler was a member of the Eastern Star.

Double Rites Held for Lapel Couple
Lapel, June 27 --- Double funeral services for Noah R. Schuyler and Dessie Schuyler were
conducted today at 2 p.m., at the M.E. Church, with Rev. A.C. Wischmeier and Rev. E.D.
Imler, of Upland, officiating. Business houses were closed during the services. Pall
bearers were members of the Business Men's Association, C.B. Breece, Frank Barnhizer,
C.J. Hinshaw, K. E. Woodward, W.W. Ketcham, C.W. Martin, Charles Timmons, L.C. Finley,
C.S. Whetsel, O.F. Lydy, Earl Cascadden and William Clifford. Burial occurred in
Brookside Cemetery.
