Mrs. Della Gant, 91, of 119 S. George St., died Tuesday at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Gant, who died June 1.
Born March 17, 1891 in Victoria County, she had been a resident of Kingsville before returning to Victoria a year ago.
She was a housewife and a member of the Baptist Church.

The Rev. Earl Jackson of Kingsville will officiate with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Walk-in visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Barefield Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Patrick and Steve Cook, Jerry and Dwayne Clemons, Koyton Gant and Richard Harris Jr.
Listed as honorary pallbearers are deacons and trustees of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Washington of Victoria and Mrs. Mamie Duncan of Houston; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Cora Shelton of San Antonio and Mrs. Ella Mae Davis of Giddings; four sons, Jim, Walter and Jerome Cook of Victoria and Isaiah Cook Jr. of Houston; two stepsons, Elvin Gant Sr. of San Antonio and Edgar Gant Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Richard Harris Sr. of Victoria; six grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 48 great-great-grandchildren.
