Mrs. Ella C Gordon Dead

Athens, May 23 - (Special)
Mrs. Ella C Gordon, wife of Major Eugene C Gordon of this place, died this morning at 6 o'clock after a lingering illness, aged about fifty years. Mrs. Gordon was reared in this place, and was a member of one of the oldest and most prominent families in this section of Alabama, the Crenshaw family. Major Gordon is a brother of General John B Gordon. Mrs. Gordon leaves a husband and two young lady daughters and many relatives and friends. The funeral will occur at the residence tomorrow afternoon, and the burial will take place in the city cemetery.
