Willie Poitevint (Mrs. CH) Posey (1878-1935),
Columbus H. Posey, Jr. (1907-1955),
Willie Pearl Posey (1909-1918),
David Franklin Posey (1912-1975),
Leacy Howell (Mrs. D. F.) Posey (1910-2003),
Lena Poitevint (1880-1963), and,
Infant Daughter Dyke (1920-1920),
The eight people buried in this plot were all close relatives: Columbus Posey, Jr., Willie Pearl Posey, and David Franklin Posey were among the children of Columbus H. Posey, Sr. and Willie Poitevint Posey. Leacy Howell Posey was their daughter-in-law (David's wife.) Lena Poitevint was a sister of Willie Poitevint Posey. Infant Daughter Dyke was probably the grandchild of Columbus Posey, Sr. and Willie Poitevint Posey, the daughter of the Posey's daughter Thelma Posey Dyke (1902-1986,) who is buried nearby (3 M 30 3rd East.)
Near this Posey plot (at 3 M 19 3rd East) is the grave of Delma Posey (1904-1966), another child of Columbus Sr. and Willie Posey. Delma Posey is buried in a plot with his wife, Ella Durham Posey (1903-1981), and their probable child, Ronald Posey (1926-1929).
Willie Poitevint Posey (1878-1935) and Lena Poitevint (1880-1963) were among the six children born to Frank Poitevint (b. ca. 1858 in Georgia) and Amanda "Manda" Crosby Poitevint (1856-1915.) Mr. Poitevint died before the 1900 US Census, and perhaps before 1890, when Mrs. Amanda Poitevent is shown in property tax records as a land-owner in Camilla, Mitchell County, Georgia.
