Mrs. Virginia Crockett Artley, 91, of Bell Buckle, TN and formerly of Hogansville, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Community Care of Rutherford County, in Murfreesboro, TN.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27,at the graveside in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.

A native of Glenn, Mrs. Artley was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Sally Blanche Bradshaw Crockett. She lived in Hogansville from 1952 until making her home in Bell Buckle four years ago and was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville, where she had been active in the Presbyterian Women. She was a member of Green Bough Garden Club and the Hogansville Senior Center.

Survivors include her sons, George C. Artley and his wife, Peggy, of Bell Buckle and John D. Artley III and his wife, Jimmie, of Tucker; three grandchildren, Melissa Artley of Atlanta, Jessica and Jason Frazier of Medina, TN, and Joshua and Rachel Artley of Lebanon, TN; and three great-grandchildren, Victoria Frazier, Jackson Frazier, and Macy Anne Frazier. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Artley, Jr.; brother, Roy Crockett; and sister, Mary Crockett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 176, Hogansville, GA 30230.
