A Chaplin resident Mrs. Virginia Chesser, age 97, passed away on Tuesday September 11, 2012 at Windsor Gardens in Bardstown. She was the former Virginia Elder a native of Nelson County, former employee of Cowden Manufacturing in Springfield for 16 years, a member of the Chaplin Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Boone V. & Violet Viola Vocook Elder and was preceded in death by her husband Chester Chesser and three brothers, Clyde, Everett & Cecil Elder. She is survived by a daughter, Marie Lewis of Chaplin; a son, Lee (Nancy) Chesser of Chaplin; two grandchildren, Wendy (Stan) Meador, Leah (Brother Terry) Tipton; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Terah Tipton and Ariana Meador. Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Chesser will be Friday September 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Brother Terry Tipton officiating, burial will be in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. Friends may kindly call the Houghlin Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday. Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
