Story Title: The Battle of Hanover Court House

Description: Henry Davis Plyler enlisted in Company D, 28th North Carolina Infantry Regiment on March 16th, 1862 at Albermarle, North Carolina. He was 18 years old. Henry was captured at the Battle of Hanover Court House Virginia and sent to Fort Delaware, MD. Later that year he was exchanged at Aikens Landing 5th August 1862. Nothing significant appears in these records until later during the Petersburg Campaign when he was admitted to the hospital for disease. Paroled at Appomattox Court House April 9th 1865.
