Aaron D. "A.D." Basham Sr., 80, Spottsville, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Lucy Smith King Care Center.

He was a Marine; he was in service during the Korean War. Mr. Basham retired from Operating Engineer Local 181. He was a construction worker, a member of Lighthouse Outreach, and a musician. He loved music and fishing.

Mr. Basham was preceded in death by his parents, Baxter and Anna Patton Basham.

Survivors include his wife, Nina "Sis" Basham; two sons, Aaron Basham and his wife, Trenda, and Dustin G. Basham, all of Henderson; one daughter, Gwendolyn Basham of Henderson; one sister, Minnie Chambers of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Joshua Pugh, Clynton Pugh and Tyler Basham; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. Brother Winters will officiate. Entombment will be in Roselawn Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Lighthouse Outreach and St. Anthony's Hospice.
