Carthage, Ill., June 15.—The funeral of Mrs. Mary Marvel, age eighty-two years, wife of W. B. Marvel, who died at her home in Carthage, Sunday morning, will be held at the residence, Wednesday morning. The Reverend G. W. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Chili cemetery. She was born near Quincy, Ill., on January 22, 1838, and was the daughter of Joseph and Phoebe (Body) Powell. Over fifty years ago she was married to W. B. Marvel and lived near Chili, Illinois until the family came to Carthage to educate the children. She was the mother of seven children. Ida and Cerliss dying in infancy. Those living are Eva at home, Mrs. C. C. O'Harra of Rapid City. S. Dakota, Mrs. William Milborn and Mrs. Leon Ruggles of Carthage and Mrs. John Rand of Bowen.
