"Mrs. Edith A. Costello, 81, of Livonia Center died Monday, Sept. 5, 1955, in the Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Costello was born in Springwater May 9, 1874, a daughter of Gardner and Orpha Peck Agard. A graduate of the old Geneseo Normal School, she taught before her marriage to Thomas E. Costello, a farmer, who died in 1940 ... Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Danforth and Mrs. Aretha Reynolds, both of Lima, and Mrs. Marion Witmer of Webster; a son, Ivan T. of Livonia Center; 15 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday (today), Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. in the Brown Funeral Home, 20 Washington Street, Livonia. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo."
