Was converted to the Christian religion 1779, was ordained a Baptist preacher 1783, came to Maine and gathered the first church at Thomaston 1784 and was its pastor eight years; came to Readfield 1792, gathered a church and officiated as its pastor till 1800. From 1800 till age weakened his bodily strength he was engaged in constant and extensive missionary labors.
He left the body Nov.3, 1852. Age 91years 8mos 8days”
