An Army veteran of World War II, retired from Bill's Ice Creme Truck, and was a Baptist.
Survivors include daughters, Brenda Atkins and Susan Atkins; stepdaughters, Joyce Hunter and Judy Joyce; stepsons, Johnny Morton and Michael Morton; eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. Carrol Caldwell.
The family received friends at the graveside following the service.
