1. The marker shows a misspelling of Silberia's maiden name. It is actually, "Beaubien. Her parents were Native American-Indian, adopted into the household of Carlos Beaubien, a famous historic trader-merchant of Taos in early 1800s. Silberia (possibly "Silvaria") was born to Juan Candelario and Maria Alvina Beaubien in July 1869 in Taos, NM.

2. Silberia's death-date is less conclusive. Family members who have an opinion say that she passed away in 1915. She is shown in the 1910 census, but her husband is listed as a widower in the 1920 record. Her youngest son, Philip, was born in 1907. Philip's closest family members recall that he was about 8 years old when she died. A great grand daughter, in about 1995, also stated that her recollection of family tradition was that the year of death was 1915. No other record seems to exist.

3. There is no record of Juan or Alvina Beaubien's whereabouts after the 1885 NM Territorial census.

4. Silberia married Charles Wesley Foor in a joint Catholic ceremony on November 29, 1884. She was 15 years old. The joint ceremony included Pete Maxwell, marrying his second wife, Sadie Leuters. Pete had inherited the abandoned Bosque Redondo and Old Fort Sumner from his father, Lucien Maxwell. That family was related by marriage to the Carlos Beaubien family, and together, constituted the wealthiest group in the Southwest United States. Pete and Charley Foor were friends. Pete was also famous by the fact that Pat Garrett had shot Billy the Kid to death in his bedroom just three years earlier.

Silberia and Charley raised eight children. That family continued to be a supporting group for Fort Sumner, and the surrounding area. While these people lived different lives than did their parents, it was a different time.
